It was just a single sentence, yet it exploded in Grant’s ears like thunder.
“No… No, that’s impossible. It couldn’t be,” he muttered. Grant was dazed. His mind shut down.
Jeremy snatched the phone from his hands and blurted out in disbelief, “No way. There’s no way something happened to my
sister!”
His trembling hands betrayed him. He was scared. Terrified.
It could not be.
She was just in front of them moments ago.
He had not really meant to lock Ashlyn away. He just wanted to scare her and knock some sense into her.
