“What did you say?” Quinn asked.
“Nothing. Let’s go back down,” Gabriel answered.
Quinn was in a good mood on the way back. She didn’t notice the glumness in Gabriel’s eyes. When they were halfway down the
mountain, she received a call. Nicholas‘ agitated voice rang out as soon as she answered it.
“I know this is your number, Quinn! I have something very important to tell you–I’ll find you, no matter where you’ve gone.
you don’t come back, I’ll seek out your friends and professors!” he cried.
Rage surged in Quinn at those words. She was about to say something when a stabbing pain suddenly struck her heart, making her breathing speed up. She was about to collapse when Gabriel caught her and held her up.
“Is your heart disease acting up? I’ll take you to the hospital!” His voice trembled as he hoisted her onto his back and made his way down the mountain, “Don’t scare me, okay? You can’t let anything happen to yourself!
“We made a pact when we were kids–you said you would marry me when we grew up. Why did you go back on your word? I never would’ve left the country if I’d known you would meet such a scumbag!”
As she slowly faded out of consciousness, she could only hear the sound of Gabriel calling her name. This was seeing him so panicked…..
her first time
Nicholas stared at the disconnected call. He was sure he hadn’t misheard–there’d been a man’s voice on the other end of the line
before Quinn had hung up.
Who was he? What was he doing with Quinn? Had she really stopped loving him?
Nicholas started trembling uncontrollably at the thought of Quinn being with another man. He couldn’t let that happen. He had.
to get her back!
