“Given the situation, you’ll marry me and become my wife.”
Isaac’s statement caught me off guard. I stared at him, eyes wide in shock.
But he merely shrugged, as if it were all just a game to him.
“I know you’re engaged to Owen, but by now, everyone is aware of us. You’re expecting my child–how could I let you marry someone else?”
Isaac reached out to move my hair aside, his voice leaving no room for debate.
I was momentarily at a loss for words, although I understood well that with his resources, there was nothing he couldn’t find out.
“Sorry, I… I thought you were just a broke college student…”
His words “Be my wife” kept echoing in my mind. Was Isaac out of his mind? Could it be that he had feelings for me?
I quickly dismissed the notion. We had only met once, and I had mistaken him for someone else, even fleeing after spending the night with him. He was probably being generous not to despise me completely.
Whatever the case, this had to be some type of madness on his part.
As if sensing my hesitation, Isaac’s expression darkened. He leaned in closer, his lips brushing against my ear. “Is that so? Weren’t you the one who said, you’d rather take a risk and live boldly than play it safe and regret it later? Now that I’m offering myself, you’re hesitating?”
His warm breath grazed my neck, and suddenly the air crackled with

unspoken tension.
“Were you listening to my conversations?”
I asked, feeling both angry and surprised.
“I overheard by accident. I just wanted to see who you were speaking with.”
The man in front of me spread his hands playfully–where was the commanding CEO demeanor now?
“What do you gain from making me your wife?”
After much hesitation, I finally asked the question that had been nagging
- me.
“Smart enough to know you’re not exactly lovable.”
Isaac gave me a sideways glance–the kind you’d give a stray dog.
I rolled my eyes internally, of course.
“My family is already aware of this. I need this child to help me resist family pressure and avoid a business marriage. I’ll take full responsibility for the child. Plus, I’ll give you 30,000 dollars a month for living expenses. And that Owen guy? I’ll handle him too.
“So, do you want to consider this offer?”
When a tycoon makes an offer, you know it’s real. Isaac, with his annoyingly perfect looks, presented terms I couldn’t turn down.
Would rejecting it make me a fool?
This was all about wealthy family drama.

He could have mentioned that earlier–I’ve read enough novels on the
topic.
While I was sure I could have secured most of Owen’s assets, why pass up additional ill–gotten wealth? Only a fool would refuse that.
Plus, a stunningly attractive “daddy” offered on a silver platter? Why refuse?
So, I made a quick decision.
“Alright! I’m in!”
