Chapter 30
Rhea’s POV
“Open up! Open this fucking door!”
There was a slamming noise on the door, someone was knocking so hard that I thought the door uld fall off. I opened it, meeting Ginny’s eyes. She walked in briskly, pushing me away with her shoulders. I stumbled a bit from the push but otherwise
maintained my balance.
“What do you want, Ginny? You could have removed the doors off its hinges.” I murmured and plopped down on the bed, smiling at her. I was in a really good mood, after all, everyone knew I wasn’t the one whom Kevin slept with. It’s been a day since the video I posted circulated and it had garnered a lot of views and comments, I was low–key a celebrity now.
“It was you, wasn’t it?” Ginny started, her voice trembling.
Ah… She must have seen the video as well.
I grinned, leaning forward, playing with her a bit wouldn’t hurt, “Finish your sentence Ginny, how am I supposed to know what
you are talking about. I’m not a mind reader. What did I do?”
Ginny’s body shook even more violently, “You crazy bitch! How dare you?! How were you able to get the video?! How?!”
I narrowed my eyes, “Is that anyway to speak to me, Ginny. Aren’t you scared that I would release the full video and not even blur
out your face this time?”
“Are you threatening me?”
“Does it seem that way?” I retorted, meeting her gaze squarely.
Ginny’s eyes flared with rage, her fists clenched at her sides like she was one second away from lunging at me.
“You’re not scared?” She hissed, taking a step forward, “That I’ll take revenge? That I’ll make you pay for what you did to me?”
I tilted my head, the smile on my lips curving slowly into something sharper, “Finally.” I murmured, “You’ve stopped pretending.”
Ginny blinked, her fury faltering for a moment, “What?”
“I was wondering when you’d drop the innocent, sweet girl act.” I said, rising to my feet, “You’ve played your role perfectly, Ginny. Always so fragile, so soft–spoken. Everyone believed you. Even I did, once. But now?” I laughed softly, “Now I see the venom behind the flowers.”
She scowled, “Don’t act like you’re any better.”
“Oh, I never claimed to be.” I replied with a shrug, “But at least I’m not a coward hiding behind a mask. You tried to ruin me. You almost succeeded. But here’s the thing about fire, Ginny, it either consumes you, or it forges you.”

Chapter 30
She glared at me, breathing heavily, “You think this little win changes anything?”
“It changes everything.” I said coolly, “You don’t control the narrative anymore. You’re not the victim, you’re the villain. And
now people are starting to see that.”
Her mouth opened like she wanted to argue, but no words came out.
“You want revenge?” I continued, “Try it. But make sure it counts, because if you come at me again, I won’t just expose you, I’ll destroy you.”
Ginny stared at me, her jaw tight, and for a moment, the room was thick with tension. Then, with a frustrated scream, she turned
and stormed out, slamming the door so hard the frame trembled.
After she left, I signed and laid back down on the bed. Knowing Ginny, she was going to start plotting something else, and since I had blocked her way this time and even won this round. What was supposed to come next, would it or would the story change?
“I have no time for this.” I muttered, going back to my desk and opening my laptop. I glanced at the page on my laptop, I was trying to sell the stocks that I had bought days ago. In my past life, I had made the mistake of trusting Kevin.
He had insisted we buy shares in SilverBridge Technologies. I remember the pitch he gave, how it was “the next big leap,” how some “insider” told him it was about to explode in the market. I was skeptical, very skeptical. I had done my research and found another startup, NovaCore, that had more stable numbers, a solid leadership team, and a promising product in beta. Everything about it screamed legit.
I had told Kevin I wanted to invest in NovaCore instead. But then Ginny joined the conversation, sweet–talking Kevin and giggling about how “Rhea always worries too much,” convincing him that I’d thank them later for following the hype. They both pressured me into dumping my entire savings into SilverBridge.
I still remember the day that stock crashed. I had logged into my account, expecting gains, only to see red, deep, bleeding red. It was all gone. Everything. And when I confronted them, they both had the audacity to shrug it off like it was just bad luck. Kevin didn’t even apologize. Ginny? She smiled. That fake smile. I didn’t realize it then, but now I know, she was glad I lost everything.
But this time, I wasn’t going to be the fool.
I clicked through my portfolio, already watching NovaCore’s numbers climb steadily. I had invested early, right before their beta launch announcement yesterday. The stock price had jumped 12% overnight. My gut had been right. Again.
But… I had to find a way to make Kevin invest in SilverBridge with his own money, Ginny as well. I knew that Kevin had his own savings from the money that I had always given him, at least he had the sense to keep some of the money and since I can’t have it back, as he would never give it to me if I asked for it, I’d rather he lost everything.
“But even though Kevin acted stupid, he is a little bit smart when it came to things like this, how am I supposed to convince him to invest in SilverBridge?” I mumbled under my breath, frowning.
He said there was an insider back then, but was there truly an insider or was he just deceiving me, but no worries, even if there was no insider, it didn’t matter. Because from now on, I was going to be the ‘insider‘.
