Chapter 22
Ginny’s POV
“M… Mom, what just… What just happened?” I stammered, staring dumbfoundedly at the door.
“Ginny, why… Why didn’t you tell me that the man Rhea went with yesterday was him! You made me embarrass myself! Did you
want to make a fool out of me?!” Rachel turned to me, her eyes red. I flinched, moving back as I shook my head.
“N… No, it’s not like that. I… I also didn’t know that it was him.” I took a fistful of my dress, clenching it tightly. How could she
have spent the night with Alaric Vale?! Yesterday night, after I took Kevin to the room I had told The to go to, I found out that she
wasn’t there, it was empty.
At first, I was angry that my plan to take a video of her having sex with Kevin, blurring his face and release it to the whole was destroyed, but then, I started feeling hotter and hotter as the minute went by. I didn’t even realise the moment that I took off my clothes and asked Kevin to sleep with me. I had left the room before Kevin woke up and I ly went back so he would bring me home
so I’m pretty sure that he has no idea that I’m the one he slept with but…
I bit my fingernails, panic arising in my chest. If Rhea was actually with Alaric Vale that night, then it was going to change a lot.
Rachel paced the room like a madwoman, her hands shaking in anger, “You should have checked! You should have made sure! Now look what’s happened!” She hissed, “I looked like an idiot in front of him!”
Tears welled up in my eyes immediately, the sting sharp and bitter. I let my body tremble slightly, just enough to make me look small, helpless, “I… I’m sorry, Mom,” I whispered, sniffing loudly, “I didn’t mean for any of this to happen… I just…” My voice broke pitifully, and I dropped my head, biting my lip, “I just wanted to help Rhea… I thought I was doing the right thing…‘
Rachel faltered. Her anger flickered, uncertainty creeping into her features,
“Ginny…” She muttered, reaching out hesitantly, “I… Maybe I was too harsh…”
“}
I sniffled again, forcing my body to shake with soft, miserable sobs, “It’s okay.” I whispered brokenly, “I know it’s my fault… I ruined everything…”
“No, no, sweetheart.” Rachel pulled me into a hug, patting my back awkwardly, “You didn’t ruin everything. It’s… It’s that little witch Rhea’s fault. She’s the one who stole everything from you and now, she’s trying to steal your marriage away from you again.”
I nodded weakly, hiding the cold fury burning in my chest behind a perfect mask of sorrow.
Rachel pulled back, brushing my hair behind my ear gently, “Go get some rest, Ginny. You’ve been through a lot. I’ll think of what to do when Rhea comes back.”
“Yes, Mom.” I said obediently, lowering my head, “I’ll… I’ll just go to my room.‘
I turned and walked away slowly, feeling her gaze on my back until I disappeared around the corner. The moment I entered my
