Rhea’s POV
“I didn’t know that I had turned into a pimp, I should thank you for the new title, shouldn’t I?”
The room froze. Rachel’s mouth dropped open. Ginny gasped audibly, clinging to Rachel’s sleeve in panic. Even the messenger’s
eyes widened in horror. I blinked, stunned for a second, before I smirked.
Oh, this was even better than I imagined.
“You…” Rachel stammered, her face rapidly losing color, “T…That’s impossible! Rhea… She… She must be lying to you! She
seduced you!”
Alaric’s expression darkened dangerously, “You’re accusing me of being easily seduced?” He asked quietly, his voice carrying a terrifying edge.
Rachel paled even further, falling silent, “N… No, that’s not it. Rhea… Rhea, she…”
“Rhea with all her kindness has taken care of me until this morning as I fell unconscious without asking for anything in return and you should have been proud of her. Unlike your precious adopted daughter who seems to have spent hours in the company of another man without anyone questioning her virtue.”
Ginny’s lips quivered, “I… I didn’t! I swear, Master Alaric, Kevin and I… we…”
“I don’t care.” Alaric snapped. His patience had clearly run dry, “Your lies bore me. The engagement was decided years ago and it will remain with Rhea. Attempting to swap her out like some defective product only shows how despicable you truly are.”
Rachel looked like she might faint, “Y… Young Master… But…”
“Rhea, come with me.” Alaric stood up, pulling me along with him. I glanced back at Ginny, and gave a closed eye smile before leaving the sitting room. He pulled me until he got to his car, and then without warning, he spun me around and pressed me up against the cool metal door with a thud.
Not painfully, no.
It was the kind of slam that made my heart leap into my throat, the kind that sent a shiver racing down my spine. His hands bracketed either side of my head, caging me in, his body close enough that I could feel the heat radiating from him.
I sucked in a sharp breath.
What the hell is he doing?!
Alaric smirked lazily, tilting his head down until his face was just inches from mine. His eyes gleamed with something wicked, something dangerous, and god, something thrilling.
“It seems your parents don’t treat you well.”

“Good.” He said, straightening just enough to meet my eyes again, his thumb brushing my bottom lip like he was memorizing the feel of it, “Let them see. Let them know exactly who you belong to.”
I was supposed to push him away, but somehow, I couldn’t give into it but rather, I wanted to feel him near me again. Weird. I had thought that getting attracted to someone after what I had faced wasn’t going to be on my bingo list
this?!
Instead, he finally pulled back, opening the car door and gesturing grandly,
e, but what was
“Get in, Rhea.” His voice was a low, velvet command that sent another thrill racing through me, “We have a lot to talk about.”
Still dazed, still trying to get my heart to stop slamming against my ribs, I slid into the passenger seat.
And as Alaric rounded the car and got in after me, a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth, I realized one terrifying truth.
I was hopelessly, disastrously screwed.
