Hazel suddenly struck herself hard across her face, the slapping sound echoing loudly.
“Audrey, if you want revenge, take it out on Ethan. He’s the one who killed your child. It had nothing to do with me. Please, I’m
begging you, let me go,” she pleaded.
Ethan’s eyes burned with fury as he glared at Hazel. “How dare you lie to me!”
Seeing that there was no way out, Hazel dropped the act altogether.
“You’ve only got yourself to blame. I photoshopped a few fake photos and told you Audrey was sleeping around, and you actually
believed it.”
With a sudden surge of strength, Ethan broke free from the bodyguards and lunged at Hazel.
“You’re the reason I ended up like this. I’ll kill you!”
They started grappling violently. Hazel wasn’t as strong, but she knew how to fight dirty. She aimed ruthlessly for the wounds on
his face.
I took a few steps back, watching the two of them turn on each other. Eventually, Ethan overpowered her, his hands closing
around her throat.
Hazel’s eyes rolled back, her breath fading. Just as she was about to lose consciousness, I signaled the bodyguards to pull Ethan
off.
“I said I would avenge my child myself.”
I stepped forward, gripping the iron rod. Both of them stared at me in terror, shaking their heads frantically. “No, please… ”
I raised the rod, aiming at their heads.
“Audrey, hold on!” David’s voice rang out as he hurried in, leaning heavily on his cane.
