overnight–the stench still clung to them.
He handed me an iron rod. “Audrey, do whatever you want with them. If anything happens, I’ll take responsibility.”
“Aunt Audrey, I swear I didn’t know you were carrying Uncle Jeremiah’s child. Please, just give me one more chance. I’ll never do
anything like that again…” Ethan uttered.
I recalled how I’d begged them on my knees yesterday. I was pleading for them to spare me and my baby. Did they show any
mercy?
I raised the rod and brought it down hard on Ethan’s back.
“You didn’t know? I told you more than once that the baby was Jeremiah’s. Did you listen?” I sneered.
He let out a piercing scream and collapsed on the ground, trembling uncontrollably. Through the pain, he still tried to explain
himself.
“Uncle Jeremiah has stayed away from women for over 30 years. And everyone knows he’s infertile because of his condition. I just
didn’t think he’d marry you and even have a child with you.”
“And that’s your excuse for killing my child? I begged you to make one phone call to confirm it. You refused and even smashed
my phone,” I retorted.
If he had believed even a single word I said yesterday, my baby might still be alive.
I was burning with rage.
I brought the iron rod down on Ethan again and again, each strike heavier than the last. He screamed in pain and tried to wriggle
away, but the bodyguards held him down firmly. He couldn’t move an inch.

Desperate, he roared at me, “Audrey, if you don’t stop right now, I’ll spill all your dirty secrets! Let’s see if Uncle Jeremiah still
wants you after that!”
I looked at him indifferently. “What dirty secrets do I have that you think you can expose?”
Ethan’s voice turned venomous.
“The night before the wedding, you were in a bar messing around with a bunch of men! Disgusting photos of you were
everywhere.
“If you weren’t so shameless and disgusting, I wouldn’t have ditched you on the wedding day! If I hadn’t run away, none of this would’ve happened! Don’t blame me. This is all your fault!”
He turned to Jeremiah. “Uncle Jeremiah, Audrey is nothing but a shameless woman. She doesn’t deserve to be part of the Moore family. I only lost control and hurt the baby because of what she’s done in the past!”
Jeremiah kicked him hard. “Do you even realize what the consequences of slandering my wife are?”
Ethan shouted, “I’m not lying! Hazel saw it with her own eyes! I still have those disgusting photos of her on my phone!”
I turned to Hazel, who was still kneelin
off to the side. I swung the iron rod in front of her face. “When and where did you see it?”
Hazel’s face had turned ghostly pale. Her lips parted, but no words came out.
I slammed the rod down on her shoulder. “Answer me!”
She instantly screamed in pain. “I made it all up! I lied to make Ethan elope with me. I photoshopped those
photos!”
