Chapter 150
Her face turned pale.
“What happened?”
Claude and the others had clearly noticed the commotion.
Before Stellar could say a word, Janet forced a smile and spoke first.

“It’s nothing. The bracelet accidentally broke. It wasn’t Stellar’s fault, of course. I’ll be sure to get her an even better one next
time.”
The way she said it made it sound as if Stellar had broken the bracelet, yet she was graciously letting it slide.
Stellar’s lips twitched.
“I didn’t drop it.”
Janet immediately adjusted her tone, lowering her stance.
“It was my own carelessness. It really had nothing to do with Stellar.”
Stellar was speechless.
She almost laughed at the ridiculousness of it.
Before she could respond, Claude spoke from the couch.
“It’s just a bracelet. Four hundred thousand dollars is hardly worthy of our princess, Stellar. No need to bring out something so
insignificant next time.”
Janet’s carefully crafted look of grievance nearly cracked.
She had never seen Claude stand up for anyone so openly before.
“Exactly. ‘It’s just a broken bracelet, no need to make a fuss.‘ Janet, I’ll wire you four hundred thousand dollars later to make up
for it.”
Julian nodded in agreement.
Janet had never felt so humiliated in her life.
But she had no choice but to respond, “…That won’t be necessary, Uncle Julian. We’re all family–there’s no need for all this
formality.”
Of course, she couldn’t take the money.
Otherwise, what would the Rivers family think of her?

Chapter 150
Just then, Adrian reached out and gently ruffled Stellar’s hair.
“Don’t take it to heart. It has nothing to do with you.”
A warmth spread through Stellar’s chest.
Being so openly cherished by family was a feeling she had never known before, and it felt wonderful.
A carefully planned scheme had fallen apart just like that.
Janet gritted her teeth in frustration before throwing out a quick, “I’m going to the restroom,” and storming off.
Stellar watched her retreating figure with cold indifference.
After briefly excusing herself from her uncles, she followed.
By the time Janet had finally composed herself and stepped out of the restroom, she found Stellar waiting outside.
“Stellar, is something wrong?”
Janet immediately adjusted her expression, putting on her usual innocent act.
“That bracelet… it was broken from the start, wasn’t it?”
Stellar didn’t bother wasting words this time. She cut straight to the point.

“You planned this from the beginning–bringing a broken bracelet, staging the whole thing to make it seem like I smashed it on
purpose.
“You wanted to turn everyone against me, to make them sympathize with you and resent me. Am I wrong?”
Janet’s heart nearly stopped, but she quickly forced herself to look confused.
“Stellar, what are you talking about? Why would I break a four–hundred–thousand–dollar bracelet just to frame you? That’s
ridiculous.”
“Drop the act.” Stellar’s voice was calm but sharp.
“That bracelet’s box was made from impact–resistant material. There’s no way it would break just from a simple fall, unless it was already broken before you even handed it to me.”
She took a step closer, her eyes icy.
“This is my first time back, and I’ve never done anything to provoke you. Yet you keep coming after me, even trying to set me up.
“Tell me, were you raised to be this vicious, or did you come up with it all on your own?”
Her blunt accusation left Janet’s face drained of color.
For years, she was pampered under the Rivers family’s protection, throwing her weight around as she pleased.

No one had ever dared to speak to her like this.
Anger surged through her, clouding her judgment.
Before she could stop herself, she snapped.
“Who said you didn’t provoke me? Your existence is the biggest offense!”
Her voice rose, shaking with frustration.

“If you had never shown up, I would still be the most cherished girl in this family. But the moment you appeared, you took everything–why should you get to have it all?
“You never should have come back!”
In her fury, she finally blurted out the truth.
