Evelyn turned around just as Reynold arrived, his face cold and his body dusted with frost.

The tall man who had been bothering her was already yelling in pain. With a single, powerful shove, Reynold sent him crashing into the bar counter.
The man let out another pained cry as he hit the edge hard.
Evelyn got up, showing a sweet smile as she clung to Reynold’s strong arm. “See? I told you my boyfriend would show up!”
She was confident Reynold would always choose her over Catherine.
Catherine could never compare to her.
Reynold’s icy gaze fell on the man, and his voice was sharp as a blade. “Get lost.”
Terrified, the man didn’t dare to argue. He stumbled away without even looking back.
Reynold turned to Evelyn, his expression unreadable. He pulled his arm free from her grasp. “Evelyn, are you done with your games?”
Evelyn’s smile faded, and she stiffened. “Are you blaming me? If I hadn’t caused a scene, you’d probably sleep with Catherine right now!”
He remained expressionless. “So, that’s why you drugged yourself?”
Evelyn, spoiled by Reynold’s endless indulgence, tilted her chin up arrogantly. “Exactly! If you dare touch Catherine, I’ll make sure another man touches me!”
Reynold’s expression darkened. Without saying another word, he turned and walked away.
Evelyn was in disbelief.
He left. He didn’t even try to coax her.
Reynold was the kind of man who could turn heads wherever he went. His good looks and wealth made him the center of attention, especially in a bar like this. Women couldn’t help but desire him.
Evelyn was no fool. She knew Catherine, along with countless other women, wanted to take him from her. Evelyn wouldn’t give them a chance.
