Chapter 13 I Know Miracle C
Celia stood frozen in place, watching Catherine’s car disappear into the distance.
A figure approached her. “Greetings, Mrs. Hansen.”
Turning around, she was surprised to see Seth Webb, the director of the holistic hospital.

Stepping forward quickly, Celia greeted him, “Greetings, Dr. Webb. You’re well–connected in your field. Is there any chance you could help me reach Miracle C to treat my daughter?”
Seth smiled. “Mrs. Hansen, as it happens, I know Miracle C. I can arrange an introduction.”
Her face lit up with joy. “Really? Thank you so much, Dr. Webb!”
Seth’s gaze shifted to where Catherine’s car had been moments ago, and a sly grin appeared on his face. “Mrs. Hansen, was that your eldest daughter who just returned from the countryside? I didn’t expect her to be so strikingly beautiful. For a moment, I thought I was looking at a fairy.”
Celia’s smile faded, replaced by a cool, composed expression.
Hansen Villa.
As darkness settled in, Celia lounged on the living room sofa, dressed in a silk nightgown, waiting for Shawn’s return.
In her youth, Celia was a beauty in Southmere, adored by her late husband, Grayson. After his passing, she remarried Shawn, who had inherited Grayson’s company and expanded it into an even greater success. Over the years, Celia’s dedication to maintaining her looks had kept her as graceful and captivating as ever.
The sound of the villa’s door opening drew her attention as a maid let Shawn in.
Celia greeted him with a warm smile and moved to help him remove his suit jacket. “You’re home late again, darling. Was it a busy day?”
Unlike the straightforward and reserved Grayson, Shawn had always been dashing and magnetic. As CEO of the company, his confidence and charisma had only grown, making Celia fall for him even more.
“I had a business dinner,” Shawn replied casually.
As he spoke, Celia caught a familiar whiff of perfume on his jacket–the scent of his new secretary’s fragrance.
Her expression darkened. “Were you with your secretary again?” she asked sharply.
Shawn frowned. “Celia, must you be so suspicious? Miracle C has refused to help Eve, and she’s devastated. If you have time, go comfort her. I’m exhausted. Let’s go to bed.”
He turned to head upstairs.
Celia’s voice stopped him in his tracks. “I have a way to convince Miracle C to help.”
He froze, then turned back to her, his demeanor softening as he placed a hand on her shoulder. “You’re incredible, Celia. You always come through for me. You’re my treasure.”
Shawn’s charm never failed to work on women, and Celia, who still exuded the allure of her Southmere roots, wasn’t immune.
Resting her head against his chest, she said playfully, “I have one condition–you need to fire that secretary.”
Shawn agreed without hesitation, “No problem. I’ll fire her tomorrow.”
With that, he scooped Celia up.
Her body softened as a flush of passion overtook her. “Didn’t you just say you were tired?” she teased.

Slipping off her nightgown, she revealed the lacy lingerie underneath. Shawn smirked. “How could anyone resist you?”
She playfully slapped his chest. “You’re so bad!”
“And you love it,” he laughed.
The next day, Catherine received a call from Celia in the apartment.
“Catherine,” Celia began, her tone warm and affectionate, “I owe you an apology for what happened at the hospital. I’ve prepared all your favorite dishes. Come home for a meal.”
From the kitchen, Laura stuck her head out. “Don’t go, Cath. She’s just Shawn’s lapdog, still obsessed with him at her age. She’s hopeless.”
“I’m busy,” Catherine replied coldly, ready to end the call.
But Celia quickly added, “Cath, do you remember the muscadine wine your father saved for you when you were born? I’ve opened it. It’s waiting for you.”
Catherine froze, Celia knew exactly how to strike a chord with her.

When Catherine arrived at the Hansen Villa, Shawn and Evelyn were nowhere to be seen. True to her word, Celia had prepared a table full of delicious dishes, and the muscadine wine sat prominently in the center.
The words “For Cath” were scrawled on the bottle in her father’s slightly awkward handwriting. Grayson had never been highly educated, but he had built his business from nothing–unlike Shawn, who had attended college during that time.
Catherine ran her fingers lightly over the words. Her childhood had been a happy one, and her father had always favored her above anyone else.
Celia, in high spirits today, wore a bright smile as she uncorked the muscadine wine. Pouring two glasses, she placed one in front of Catherine and kept the other for herself.
“Cath, let’s toast,” she said cheerfully.
Catherine’s gaze turned sharp as she looked at Celia. Her voice was icy as she asked, “How did my father die?”
The unexpected question made Celia’s hands shake, and the wine in her glass nearly spilled.
Her eyes shifted uneasily. “Cath, your father passed away from an illness. There’s no point explaining further–you wouldn’t understand. You’re not a doctor, after all!”
Catherine sneered and slowly drained her glass. She was determined to uncover the truth about Grayson’s death on her own.
