Chapter 2
As I scrolled through the comments, it was clear that everyone was stunned by this explosive news.
“Wow! Is this really Isaac? Did he post this himself?”
“You mean the famous ascetic and handsome man was charmed by some unknown woman, and she left money afterward? This is every girl’s fantasy!”
“The woman must be regretting it now–she missed such a golden chance! I’m so curious… For Mr. Heald to go to such lengths, her identity must be something extraordinary.”
“Wait, is no one mentioning the reward? It’s 15,000 dollars! Has anyone seen her? Let me know!”
Now I’m really on the national wanted list…
It wasn’t just the online community. Even I, the person involved, was completely floored! I felt like I could practically go into labor from the shock!
“That bracelet obviously belongs to you! And that mole on your wrist! Maya, we’ve been best friends for over ten years. When did you get involved with Isaac? Why didn’t you tell me?”
Sarah accused me sharply, leaving me speechless and my mind blank.
My eyes lingered on the somewhat familiar contact information… I was
sure I had seen it before.
Wasn’t this the same number I dismissed as a spam call in the car earlier?
Chapter 2
No wonder there were so many calls! This is a disaster.
It meant Isaac had already found me. He even gave me a chance to
answer.
As for this Instagram post… I could have cried.

The app had reloaded, and the chaos continued. I pushed my way through and saw nothing but hateful comments… along with people actually uncovering my personal information.
To prevent things from getting worse, I firmly decided to call back and find out what Isaac truly wanted.
However, before I could make the call, Owen called me first.
With all the chaos, it was inevitable that he would find out.
Well, the truth had to surface eventually.
“Maya! Have you lost your mind? Is that really you on Instagram?
“Is that child Isaac’s? Are you intentionally trying to humiliate me?”
As expected, he was accusing me. It was ridiculous! He didn’t even question the claims.
A man who had been unfaithful for so long was now interrogating me. Just hearing his voice made me nauseated.
“Is that so? Compared to you, we’re on equal footing. Isn’t this just me taking a page out of your book?
“Owen, I don’t mean to be blunt, but cheating is one thing–but choosing someone with no figure, no skills, and no looks? I’d be ashamed to date someone like that in public.

“Isaac is wealthier, more elegant, and better–looking than you. I’m truly embarrassed… that I ever got engaged to you. I’m too ashamed to even mention it. I aim high when selecting partners. You aim low. Poverty is poverty–even if you climb the social ladder, you can’t escape that cheap mentality.”
Owen was likely shaking with rage, his sarcasm as ineffective as hitting a pillow. “Do you really think he’s into you? He’s just messing around. You’re acting all tough now, but you spent three years groveling at my feet.”
I shrugged off his words with a dismissive sneer, responding casually. “So what? I’d rather die for love than live a boring life.
“I’ve decided to break up with you. My lawyer will reach out about dividing our assets. Goodbye.”
After letting out my frustration, I unexpectedly felt cheerful.
Now, it was time to confront the challenges ahead.
