Eldest senior brother, still chuckling, said, “Alright, you two, stop teasing her. Let’s just say she experienced a romantic calamity during her mortal trial these past three years. I’m sorry, Cath, but it’s just too funny. I can’t help it–hahahahaha!”
Catherine rolled her eyes. She seriously considered kicking all three of them out of the chat.
With a quick swipe of her finger, she renamed the group from “Happy Family” to “Quirky Family.”
At that moment, her third senior brother, Xander Hotch, returned to the main topic. “Cath, it’s time for you to get back to work. Our schedule is packed, and I’ve already lined up a complicated heart surgery for you. Head to Holistic Hospital
tomorrow.”
Catherine responded with a simple “OK.”
After leaving the group chat, she noticed a friend request notification. When she opened it, the sender stunned her- Reynold.
Reynold was requesting to add her on WhatsApp.

But when he read her response, he paused, then let out a wry laugh, his thin lips curving slightly.
She had outright rejected his friend request.
At that moment, Brian entered the room with a cup of coffee. He glanced at Reynold’s phone and noticed the rejection.
Who would dare refuse Mr. Parker’s friend request?
“Mr. Parker, your genius junior is … unique,” Brian remarked, a bit stunned,
Reynold chuckled. She was, indeed, special.
She was the first person who had ever rejected him.
Still, he found he didn’t particularly care whether she added him or not.
Reynold took a sip of the coffee but immediately frowned.
“Is the coffee not to your liking, Mr. Parker? I’ll make a new cup,” Brian offered quickly.
Reynold didn’t respond. Instead, his mind wandered to Catherine’s coffee–the perfect blend that suited his tastes like no

Expressionless, he instructed, “Write a check for a million dollars. It’s my divorce settlement for Catherine.”
She had claimed she wanted to leave with nothing, but Reynold didn’t believe her.
