Chapter 5
Chapter 6
After venting his emotions, Dante lifted his head again.
“Even if Xander hadn’t cheated on her, she must be with someone else. Otherwise, How could she has the baby?”
I said coldly, “Whether you believe it or not, the child is yours.”
“Impossible. Absolutely impossible,” Dante immediately denied. “The warlock told me my sperm count is low. There’s no way I could have a child.”
“A low sperm count doesn’t mean no sperm. It just makes conception harder. It’s still possible to get pregnant,” a werewolf officer nearby commented, “What kind of doctor did you see? He’s clearly not very skilled.”
Dante didn’t believe this, shaking his head. “That’s a swamp warlock, he’s much better than the pack doctor you mentioned.”
“The swamp warlock?” The officer laughed. “Well, you went to the wrong place. He’s not even a real warlock, just a fraud who scams people! We’ve had ten cases, and six of them said they were cheated out of their money. He’s known for exaggerating and deceiving people like you.”
These words struck Dante hard.
He still refused to believe it, until someone showed him related cases. Only then did he realize he had been deceived by the swamp warlock.
In an instant, Dante became even more disheveled.
He finally understood how serious the situation had grown.
He turned to me, his eyes filled with regret. “My love, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it. I was so blinded by love that I lost my mind and did such foolish
things.”
“Please forgive me. If it helps, you can hit me in return. I didn’t mean to doubt you. For the sake of our child, give me another chance. A child can’t grow up without a father.”
In those few seconds, Dante reverted to the version of himself I was familiar with.
His eyes were filled with remorse.
I said coldly, “A child? The child was gone. It was you that killed it.”
“What–what?” Dante’s face turned pale with fear. “The child’s gone? I–I didn’t use that much force.”
“That’s right.” I lifted my shirt to reveal the bruises on my stomach, remnants of the force he had used. “This is what you did to me. Don’t forget, Dante, the child is gone because of you. The biological father killed it.”
As i said this, my body trembled.
Grief crashed over me in waves, like a relentless tide.
I struggled to hold back the tears.
Dante bit his lip, still unable to accept the truth.
“No, no way. Renna, you must be lying. I controlled my strength. How could the child be lost so easily? You’re doing this to upset me, aren’t you?”
I didn’t know.
I hadn’t realized Dante was such a paranoid person.
I held back my tears and pulled the embryo specimen and the bond–breaking agreement out of my bag.
“This is the child you destroyed. I was planning to have you do another paternity test, but now I see it’s unnecessary.” I took a deep breath. “Dante, let’s sever the mate bond.”
Dante’s hands trembled as he held the small bottle.
When he saw the tiny embryo, his shoulders shook violently.
“How could this happen? My child… my child!”
His sobs felt to me like crocodile tears.
When Dante finally stopped crying, the police told him that his case was serious enough, and since I wasn’t willing to forgive him, he was likely going to jail
Hearing this, Dante’s face went completely pale.

He desperately pleaded with me. “Renna, please don’t press charges. It was just the spur of the moment. I never meant to harm your child. Please, give me one more chance. Can we go back to the way things were?”
Faced with his remorse and pleading, I didn’t give in.
After all, this wasn’t just about my own pain.
When he hit my mother, did he ever think about giving us a chance?
