Chapter 4
As I bobbed up and down in the waves, I saw Kevin running toward us. Lily was putting on an act, pretending to be in distress.
I was furious, thinking he was being such a pain!
I immediately turned around and swam with all my might toward Lily.
I didn’t need a man to rescue me.
I didn’t need Kevin to save me, and I wouldn’t give Lily this opportunity either.
Lily seemed completely shocked that I could swim. When my hand grabbed her, she began struggling frantically.
She kept screaming, “Kevin, save me…
Watching her struggle and seeing Kevin ready to jump into the sea, I knocked her unconscious and dragged her toward the shore.
Fortunately, we hadn’t been in the water long and weren’t far from shore. I quickly swam back to the beach.
When Kevin tried to come help, I shouted at him furiously, “Stay away! If you touch her once today, we’re getting divorced!”

I collapsed on the sand, gasping for breath, watching a crowd gather around Lily.
Kevin glanced at Lily lying on the ground with displeasure, took off his jacket, draped it over my shoulders, and said, “Honey, let’s go home.”
At that moment, Lily, who had been lying on the ground receiving emergency care from medics, suddenly sat up and shouted, “Kevin, don’t leave!”
Feeling the suspicious gazes of everyone around, Lily began to
cry.
“Kevin, Audrey pushed me into the sea. Are you going to protect a murderer?”
Everyone around was shocked. One neighbor rushed up to my face and yelled, “I never thought you could be so vicious! Why would you hurt Lily?”
“People from out of town just can’t be trusted.”
Hearing the accusations around me, I clenched my fists as I looked at these people and Lily’s smug expression.
Anger clouded my judgment. I wanted to rush over and teach Lily a lesson, but Kevin held me back.

Seeing his dark expression, I grew even angrier.
I thought to myself, “I never wanted to come here. I don’t fit in, and now I’m being falsely accused. Even my husband doesn’t believe me. Of course he still favors his friend. Once I deal with all these people, I’m divorcing him immediately!”
“I believe Audrey wouldn’t do something like this,” Kevin said. “Lily, didn’t you win the Naval Base swimming championship last Christmas?”
Lily’s face instantly turned pale.
“That’s right, Lily. Aren’t you an excellent swimmer? Why would you need someone to rescue you?”
Under everyone’s suspicious gaze, Lily truly panicked. She cried, “I… I suddenly fell into the sea and got scared. My leg cramped… if Audrey hadn’t pulled me, I wouldn’t be like this!”
Hearing her continue to lie, I couldn’t take it anymore. I yanked myself free from Kevin and slapped Lily twice across the face.
Lily’s face swelled up.
“How dare you hit me! What right do you have to hit me?” Lily was furious and lunged at me.
I kicked her down onto the beach.

I dusted off my hands, looking at Lily sitting on the sand, and said with a cold smile, “What do you think?”
