Chapter 147
“Our Stellar is incredibly talented and thoughtful–the most caring little sweetheart,” Martha said, her eyes welling up with
emotion again.
Seeing this, Stellar quickly walked over to her grandmother and picked up the hair clip.
“Grandma, let me put this on for you. Let’s see how it looks.”
“Alright, alright,” Martha eagerly agreed.
Stellar carefully gathered her grandmother’s hair into a neat bun, securing it with the elegant clip.
After examining her handiwork, she nodded in satisfaction and said with a straight face, “Now, when you step outside, you’ll be
the most dazzling lady in all of Southport.”
Martha couldn’t hold back her laughter, thoroughly amused.
Laurence watched their interaction, a sense of nostalgia washing over him.
For a fleeting moment, it felt like stepping back in time—his daughter had always been a cheerful little girl, making Martha laugh
with ease.
Now, Stellar’s face overlapped with the memory of his daughter.
She was such a wonderful child, yet she left this world before them.
But she gave them this precious granddaughter.
His heart ached as he thought about all the hardships Stellar had endured over the years.
“Miss Stellar isn’t just talented,” Mary chimed in with enthusiasm.
“She’s also incredibly kind–hearted. She even cooks herself and always experimenting with new recipes. She’s thoughtful,
intelligent, and so generous…”
Mary went on, showering Stellar with endless praise.
The rest of the family nodded in agreement, fully recognizing her many qualities.
At the same time, their hearts ached even more for everything she had been through.
She must have suffered so much out there–why else would she be so perceptive of people’s moods?
For a moment, everyone looked at her with the kind of sympathy reserved for someone who had once lived off scraps.
Stellar covered her face, giving up on trying to argue.
No matter what she said, they were determined to see her through their own lens.

The warmth and concern of family were something she simply couldn’t resist.
As the family chatted happily, the sound of the doorbell suddenly rang through the house.
The conversation came to an abrupt halt.
At first, Stellar thought it might finally be the arrival of her mysterious youngest uncle.
Not long after, the butler led in a young woman with delicate features.

She carried a gift in her hands, her smile sweet as she walked forward and casually seated herself beside Laurence and Martha.
“Grandpa, I came to wish you an early happy birthday.”
Grandpa?
Stellar was taken aback.
She clearly remembered that her mother was her grandfather’s only daughter. And wasn’t she the only child her mother ever
had?
For a brief moment, the atmosphere in the room stiffened.
But Laurence quickly responded, his tone still relatively kind.
“Ah, Janet, you’re too thoughtful.”
Stellar blinked in confusion, having no idea who this girl was.
Julian leaned in slightly and lowered his voice to explain, “Her name is Janet Cole. She’s the daughter of your mom’s cousin,
which technically makes her your cousin too.”
Years ago, after Stellar’s mother passed away and Stellar herself went missing, Laurence and Martha were devastated.
During that time, a distant relative, Layla Rivers, who was close to Stellar’s mother, frequently visited them.
Perhaps because she reminded them of their daughter, the elderly couple always treated her well.
When Layla later married, the Whitmore family also extended their support to her husband’s family, the Coles.
As a result, Janet spent many years in the Rivers family’s estate, and the two families remained close.
Stellar finally understood.
Meanwhile, Janet quickly regained her composure.
Noticing how the entire family was gathered around Stellar, her heart clenched.
“And this is…?”
“This is our long–lost princess, Stellar Rivers,” Julian said with a smile.

Janet’s heart sank.
So, it was her!
She heard that the Rivers had found her aunt’s biological daughter, but she hadn’t expected Stellar to return so soon.
Suppressing the unease bubbling inside her, she forced an enthusiastic expression.
“So, you’re Stellar! I’ve been looking forward to meeting you. Welcome
home!”
