Chapter 144
“It’s nothing. Just an idiot. Let’s go.”
Without another glance, Stellar turned and left the venue with Stephen.
Behind them, Percy stood frozen, his entire body rigid with anger.
He could practically feel his insides burning with frustration.
“Mr. Moore, don’t be upset. I didn’t handle things well. I couldn’t create the right opportunity for you,” Dawn said apologetically
her face full of guilt.
“If you want to blame someone, blame me.”
“It’s not your fault.”
If anything, all of this only made Percy think even more highly of Dawn.
She had a face so similar to Stellar’s, yet why couldn’t Stellar be as obedient and considerate as Dawn?
After leaving the venue, Stellar turned to Stephen, curiosity sparking in her eyes.
“What did Professor Song say to you just now?”
“He praised your quick thinking and said your speech was outstanding. He’d like to discuss more professional topics with you next time if the opportunity arises.”
Stephen glanced down at her, a flicker of amusement in his gaze.
“Really?”
Stellar was caught off guard, clearly surprised.
Stephen nodded, his expression serious. “Yes, he even asked me to bring you to meet him again when I have time.”
However, what Sean actually said was: “Next time, bring your brilliant girlfriend along.‘”
“Gladly,” Stellar beamed, her mood lifting instantly.
Even the annoyance from dealing with Percy earlier seemed to fade into nothing.
Afterward, the two of them grabbed dinner together before Stephen drove her home.
Just as she was about to get out of the car, he suddenly said, “By the way, I won’t be around for the next couple of days. If you need anything, just call me.”
Stellar found the timing amusing.
Chapter 144
The weekend was coming up, and she was planning to leave town for a short trip to Southport anyway.
Still, she asked, “Business trip?”
“Just visiting family.”
Stephen didn’t bother hiding it.
Stellar raised an eyebrow and thought, “Well, that’s a coincidence.”
Thinking about her grandparents, Stellar couldn’t help but feel a little anxious.

“Senior, I’m also going to meet two important elders in the next couple of days–people I’ve never met before. Do you have any advice on how to make a good impression?”
Stephen raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised by the question.
After a brief pause, he answered,
“If they truly care about you, you don’t need to do anything special. Just be yourself, and things will fall into place. With your personality, I doubt any elder would dislike you.”
Stellar felt a little embarrassed by the compliment.
“I’m not money–there’s no way everyone will like me.”
“Anyone who doesn’t like you just has terrible judgment,” Stephen replied as if it were the most obvious fact in the world.
For a split second, Stellar nearly blurted out, “What about you?”
The thought alone sent heat rushing to her face.
Her heart skipped a beat–then another.
Panicking at her own reaction, she quickly pushed the car door open.
“I’ll get going then.”
And with that, she almost fled.
Back in her room, she let out a long breath, trying to calm herself.
Her heart was still racing.
Was something wrong with her?
Maybe she should get her body checked.
The next day, when Stellar arrived at school, she immediately noticed the way people were looking at her.
Chapter 144
Some curious, some impressed, and some downright admiring.
By the time she made it to the research lab, she turned to Lilian in confusion.
Only then did she find out what was going on.

“Stellar, you have no idea! Your incredible speech at the symposium was recorded and uploaded online–it’s gone viral! The
video has already hit over a million views.
“People aren’t just praising your intelligence and eloquence, but also how stunning you are. They’re calling you a true genius and
even looking up to you as a role model!”
Lilian had watched that video at least ten times herself.
The more she replayed it, the more admiration she felt.
To think that such a brilliant person was in the same research group as her–she must have done some serious good deeds in her
past life to be this lucky.
Stellar flushed at the praise, feeling a little overwhelmed.
But there was no denying that this had only amplified her reputation even more.
After a long day of work, she finally headed home.
It was already Friday.
Tomorrow marked the start of the weekend.
Carrying a few packed bags, she walked downstairs, where Claude was already waiting by the car, ready to take her and Mary back
to Southport.
