“Hello, Miss Rivers. Hello, Mr. Ward.”
The girl greeted them with a bright smile. “I’m Dawn Jones, a junior at your university. Are you two attending the symposium together?”
Stellar was caught off guard.
There was something oddly familiar about Dawn’s face, but she couldn’t quite place it.
Still, since the girl had greeted them politely, she naturally responded in kind.
“Yes, we are. Are you participating as well?”
“I wasn’t originally supposed to, but I got in as a volunteer for the event. That’s the only reason I’m here,” Dawn said cheerfully before tilting her head.
“By the way, are you two wearing matching outfits? You look great together.”
Her tone was casual, neither too loud nor too soft, but just enough for Percy to overhear from nearby.
Stellar blinked, then instinctively glanced down.
Only then did she realize that she and Stephen were both wearing deep emerald green.
They hadn’t planned it at all, yet somehow, they ended up looking perfectly coordinated.
Heat crept up her cheeks, and she was just about to explain that it was purely coincidence.
But before she could, Dawn continued.
“You know, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Mr. Ward be this patient with anyone before. And the way he looks at you–it’s so tender, it makes me jealous.
“If someone treated me like that, I’d definitely want to marry him.”
She sighed wistfully, her face full of admiration.
However, Stephen said nothing.
He simply stood there, expression unreadable.
But something about Dawn’s overly sweet smile, the way she seemed to say just enough to stir the air around them, made him instinctively dislike her.
Stellar had been the subject of gossip before, so after her initial flustered reaction, she quickly composed herself and opened her mouth to clarify, “Actually, we’re not…”

Before she could finish, Dawn suddenly lifted the cup in her hand.
“Miss Rivers, I really admire you. Would you-”
Just then, someone bumped into her from behind.
The next moment, the cup of water in Dawn’s hand tilted, spilling straight onto Stellar’s blazer.
A dark stain bloomed across the fabric.
Stellar froze.
“Aah-!” Dawn gasped in horror, eyes widening in panic.
“Oh my god, Miss River, I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to please forgive me!”
“It’s fine…” Stellar said, brushing it off.
It wasn’t a big deal.
She could just wipe it down.
Dawn quickly stepped in front of Stellar, her eyes reddened as if she were on the verge of tears.

“Miss Rivers, please don’t report this to the event organizers. If they find out, they’ll dock my pay or even fire me. I really need
this job.”
From the way Dawn was dressed, Stellar could already tell she wasn’t well off.
Her concern made sense.
She was just about to reassure her when a sharp voice suddenly cut through the air.
“Stellar, that’s enough!”
At the sound of that all–too–familiar voice, Stellar’s brows furrowed.
She looked up, and sure enough, Percy was storming toward her, his face dark with anger.
She was almost surprised he had managed to get into an event like this.
Then again, given the Moore family’s current situation, it wasn’t that hard to figure out.
“Stellar, when did you become so snobbish? Just because you have status now, you think you can push people around?”
Percy glared at her, his voice thick with resentment.
After his mother returned home last night, humiliated and furious, she told him everything–how Stellar had even cursed him to
die.
That alone had nearly made his blood boil.
