Chapter 5
Vanessa let out a sharp scream and shrank behind Quintus, while he flinched at the sight of the urn.
“Giselle! What the hell are you doing?” he snapped.
I scoffed and took a step closer. “Did you even think about our child when you got together with this murderer?”
“What child? Giselle, you’re insane!” Quintus shouted.
Vanessa peeked out from behind him and whispered, “That’s right. You can’t just accuse me like that.”
The reporters immediately pointed their microphones at me.
“Miss, could you explain the situation regarding the child and your relationship with Mr. Ford?”
I had anticipated that Vanessa would continue to play innocent, so I came prepared with evidence. Facing the cameras, I pulled
out the pregnancy test results and my marriage certificate with Quintus.
“Quintus and I are legally married, and of course, the child is ours.”
Before the cameras could capture everything, Quintus snatched the documents from my hands.
His face paled with shock. “You were pregnant?” he asked.
“Yes, I was pregnant,” I replied firmly. “When you left me to rescue Vanessa during the earthquake, I was already pregnant.‘
I gritted my teeth and continued, “And the woman you risked your life to save murdered our child.”
At these words, the reporters immediately turned to Vanessa.
“Ms. Lincoln, is what she said true?”
“So, Mr. Ford was already married? Doesn’t that make you the third party in this relationship?”
”
Vanessa’s eyes filled with tears. She clutched Quintus’s sleeve and stammered, “No, I didn’t. It wasn’t me! Quintus, you have to believe me!”
Quintus frowned and fell silent for a moment.
Then, he pulled Vanessa into his arms, shielding her. “Enough! Don’t speak without proof!”
I couldn’t believe it. Even after knowing I was pregnant, Quintus still chose to stand by Vanessa’s side.
“Giselle, you can’t just accuse me without proof,” Vanessa said.
“Yeah, Miss, You can’t just say things without evidence,” someone chimed in.
The reporters began whispering amongst themselves.
