“Take her to the hospital.”
“Yes, sir!”
The assistant quickly lifted Lisa and rushed her to the hospital.
Tristan stayed kneeling at the scene for a long time, unmoving, until his phone rang.

‘Mr. Ford, the baby you and Miss Evans were expecting didn’t make it.”
“Alright.”
Tristan let out a faint grunt. It wasn’t his child with Nicole, so it didn’t matter to him.
“Miss Evans is highly emotional right now. She’s threatening to jump off a building if you don’t see her.”
“Tell her I will never see her again. She should take the money and disappear from my life forever.”
With that, he hung up without hesitation.
Lisa lay lifelessly on the hospital bed, her tears long dried.
She had known about her pregnancy for a while and had pinned all her hopes on the child. She dreamed of using it to push Nicole
out of the picture and take her place as Mrs. Ford.
But now, with Nicole truly gone, Tristan had become a completely different person. He even called her nothing but a plaything.
Two years. She had spent two years serving him, only to be told she was nothing more than a toy–not even worthy of carrying
his child
“Tristan Ford, you’re utterly heartless,” Lisa thought.
“Miss Evans,” the assistant said with a sigh as he walked back into the room. “I think it’s time for you to move on. Mr. Ford isn’t
coming to see you. He made it very clear he doesn’t want to see you ever again.”
He placed a check on the table beside her. “Here’s one million dollars. Take it and leave. No matter where you go, this money is more than enough to support you for the rest of your life.”
“Money? You think this little bit of money can buy me off?” Lisa let out a bitter laugh. “I’m not accepting it. I want to see him!”
“Miss Evans, why are you doing this to yourself? You and I both know the truth that Mr. Ford never loved you. You always knew what you were getting into. It’s best to accept it and move on. Stop making a scene.”
The assistant hesitated, then added softly, “Besides… the doctor said you’ll never be able to have children again. Please, take the
money and find a way to live a peaceful life.”
“What did you say?”
Lisa blinked, her voice trembling, as if she hadn’t heard him clearly.
“You said… I can’t have children anymore?”
“The doctor said your body was already weak. Losing this child means it’ll be very difficult for you to conceive again in the future. Miss Evans, honestly… life without children can still be fulfilling.……
The assistant wanted to say more, but Lisa had already broken down.
She grabbed the vase on the table and hurled it at him with all her strength.

“Get out! Get out of here!”
The assistant quickly dodged the vase, realizing her emotions were spiraling out of control. Not daring to provoke her further, he
left the check on the table and turned to leave.
Just as he reached the door, Lisa’s voice stopped him.
“Tell Tristan something for me.”
She blinked slowly, her red, swollen eyes looking eerily sinister under the harsh lighting.
“What is it?” The assistant frowned, suddenly feeling uneasy about her calm demeanor.
“Tell him… I hate him. I curse him to never find Nicole for the rest of his life! I curse him to never know happiness in this
lifetime!”
Lisa raised her head, her lips curling into a twisted, menacing smile.
The assistant shivered at the sight. Her curse was venomous, almost chilling in its intensity.
When Tristan returned home, the house was eerily quiet. It was still as empty as ever, with no sign of Nicole.
It was at that moment he finally understood–Nicole was never coming back.
But he refused to believe she was gone. He convinced himself she was still alive. Even if he had to search every corner of the
world, he would find her.
