“If you had stayed out of Nicky’s way and kept to yourself, I might have let you have this child. But you crossed the line. You never
should have shown up in front of her!”
“I didn’t! It wasn’t me! Why don’t you believe me? She’s the one who asked to meet me! She’s the one who jumped!”
“Take her away.”
Tristan pinched the bridge of his nose, exhaustion evident in every fiber of his being. He was drained, both physically and
emotionally..
Nicole had left him because of Lisa. If Nicole knew Lisa was carrying his child, she would never forgive him, nor would she ever
come back. That was why he had to make sure Lisa didn’t keep the baby.
“I’m not leaving! Tristan, you can’t do this to me!”
Lisa struggled, refusing to go with the assistant.
The assistant hesitated, torn between his duty and
ity and his own disc
own discomfort with the situation.
As the tension escalated, an idea suddenly flashed in Lisa’s mind.
“Tristan, have you ever thought that maybe Nicole has already been reincarnated? What if she’s been reborn… into my womb as
our child?”
The assistant frowned, silently marveling at Lisa’s ability to make up such a story.
Tristan stared at her stomach, his expression shifting. Anything related to Nicole made him lose all sense of reason.
He stepped closer, placing his hand on her stomach again.
“Could that… be true?”
“It could be!” Lisa nodded vigorously. “Think about it–Nicole had just passed away, and now I’m pregnant. Isn’t that a sign? Maybe this child is connected to her. Maybe it’s her!”
Clinging to this desperate hope, Lisa bombarded Tristan with her fabricated logic, trying to twist his emotions in her favor.
After a long silence, Tristan sighed heavily. “Take her to the Willow Manor. She’s not allowed to leave without my permission
until the child is born.”
The assistant was stunned, unable to believe what he was hearing. How could this absurd plan actually work?
Lisa breathed a sigh of relief. As long as she could keep the baby, she believed that one day, she’d use the child to secure her position as Mrs. Ford.
“Mr. Ford! There’s trouble outside!”

The assistant had barely stepped out before rushing back with Lisa in tow. “A crowd has gathered, demanding justice for Mrs.
Ford!”
Tristan blinked, his tone calm as he asked, “What justice are they demanding?”
“The news has been reporting Mrs. Ford’s death after she jumped into the river, and someone dug up proof that you’ve been involved with Miss Evans for the past two years. Now, people are furious, saying Mrs. Ford didn’t deserve this, and they’ve
