Chapter 92
As if the endless demands weren’t frustrating enough, they were also draining his finances.
The moment Percy so much as suggested a compromise, Yvonne would throw a tantrum, playing the spoiled heiress to
perfection.
“If you can’t meet my expectations, I’ll tell my uncle and the others that you can’t even afford this. Let’s see how he deals with
you then.”
Percy knew all too well how much the Harlow and Jonathan’s family doted on her.
They would bend over backward to satisfy her every unreasonable demand, and somehow, he would still end up being the villain
in the story.
If word of this reached his father, he’d be in for a lecture, and if it caused any trouble for the engagement, it could even hurt the
company.
His past missteps had already cost Moore Enterprises several partnerships, leaving the business on shaky ground.
At this point, he couldn’t afford any more turbulence.
And Yvonne, of course, had figured that out.
That was why she was pushing her limits, knowing full well he had no choice but to go along with it.
Percy was drowning in frustration.
And for some reason, he found himself thinking more and more about Stellar.
She had always been so patient and understanding.
When she was by his side, she never demanded anything from him.
Instead, she quietly supported him, anticipated his needs before he even voiced them, and handled countless problems without ever seeking credit.
With her, he never needed to try so hard.
Now, the stark contrast between the two women gnawed at him, making his irritation fester.
That afternoon, Yvonne clung to him again.
“Come with me today. I’m introducing you to my social circle.
“All my friends are dying to meet my fiancé, and you need to make a good impression. I want them seething with jealousy when they see you by my side.”
Ever since reclaiming her place as the Harlow family’s true heiress, she had been quietly mocked behind her back.

Some still sneered that she was just a commoner who lucked out.
Others whispered that she was uncultured and unpolished, a social climber pretending to belong.
She would have loved nothing more than to slap those women across the face, but they were careful never to provoke her
outright.
Now, with Percy—a prestigious, wealthy, and well–bred fiancé–she finally had the perfect opportunity to crush them beneath
her heel.
“I’m not going.”
Percy pulled his arm free. “I have an important business meeting today.”
“Can’t you reschedule?”
Yvonne’s frustration flared instantly.
“Have you forgotten that we still haven’t secured Riverfront Corporation’s deal? I finally came up with a way to move things. forward. Do you want me to keep stalling indefinitely?”
At the mention of that, Yvonne’s expression darkened.
Ever since Riverfront Corporation had backed out, her father had been cold and distant, barely acknowledging her.
She had to prove herself and show the Harlow family that bringing her back was the right decision.
Weighing the pros and cons, she bit down her anger and begrudgingly relented.
“Fine, I’ll let you go. But you’d better lock down that deal–our families are tied together now. If you win, we both win. If you fail.. well.”
She didn’t finish the sentence, but the threat in her tone was unmistakable.
Percy clenched his jaw, seething inside but keeping his frustration in check.
“I’ll do my best.”
Without another word, he turned and walked away, finally breaking free of her grip.
It was Monday, and Stellar was buried in work at the research institute.
Today’s group task was to break through a new structural design.
But despite hours of calculations and effort, nothing was working.
Two hours had passed.

Tension was running high.
“We’ve been at this all morning, and we still can’t get the right results. At this rate, are we even going to be able to submit our findings today?”
Lilian ruffled her hair in frustration before suddenly perking up as an idea struck her.
“If we really can’t figure it out, why don’t we ask Senior Ward? He’s a genius–there’s no way a problem like this would stump
him.”
Before anyone could respond, a scoffing sound came from the side.
Vivian sneered, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
“Lilian, do you really think just anyone can get help from Senior Ward? Not everyone is like Stellar, you know. You should learn to recognize your limits. Stop dreaming.”
